Cooking Classes

Eating well on a restricted diet can be a challenge, especially when work, social and family obligations seem to crowd out all the time and energy it takes to plan, shop and prepare healthy meals at home. If cooking has become a dreaded chore or a hopeless endeavour lately, a hands-on class with an experienced cook can bring momentum, joy and clarity back into the process. All of the classes are designed to be, above all else, fun! However, I hope that you will come away with useful resources as well as tips and general cooking principles to energize and streamline your cooking routine.
Although I offer to pick up the ingredients for an additional fee, I recommend that class participants shop for groceries themselves, to familiarize themselves with the stores and store aisles that cater to their new dietary needs. To help with this process, I provide detailed ingredient lists as well as store recommendations (both physical and online) at least a week before the date of the class.
Each class is customized to your needs, preferences and cooking skills! In addition, each class includes:
• The option of a free 15-minute consultation where we discuss your dietary needs and which dishes would best fit the class
• Ingredient lists and recommended places to find them, both locally and online (see above)
• E-booklet with the recipes covered in the class as well as 2 bonus recipes that fit the theme of the class

Gluten-Free Baking
Cookies and crumbles and cakes, oh my! Gluten-free baking can seem daunting to the novice, but, with the right tools and ingredients, you can make all your favourite snacks and desserts. You won’t miss the gluten! In fact, you won’t even know it’s gone. Egg-free, dairy-free and refined sugar-free options are available if you cannot or prefer not to work with those ingredients. Wok with Me
Do you love a good Asian takeout? Is your wok gathering dust in a cupboard at the back of your kitchen? Let’s give it a fresh coat of seasoning and put it to work! In this class, you will learn how to properly clean and season a wok, how to prepare ingredients for stir-frying, and how to achieve restaurant-worthy results, even on your home stovetop. This class is gluten and dairy free, with soy-free, egg-free and vegan options available. If you have other restrictions, please let me know and I will try to accommodate your needs! Note: A carbon steel or cast iron wok is recommended for this class but not required. (2.5h / $285)

Free-From Pasta Masterclass
No gluten? No problem! Learn how to make fantastic pasta dishes with the ingredients your body loves. We’ll make some side dishes too so you can make a meal out of it (with leftovers!).
